Case Study: Crafting the Perfect Logo for Across All Ages Therapy

Across All Ages Therapy - Occupational Therapy Atlanta

Project Overview

Client: Across All Ages Therapy
Industry: Healthcare Services
Project Scope: Logo Design
Timeline: 15 Days
Objective: To create a visually appealing and memorable logo that reflects Across All Ages’ brand values and resonates with their target audience.

Background

Across All Ages approached us with the goal of designing a logo and new brand identity for their startup occupational therapy practice. As a company operating in healthcare, they needed a logo that stood out and communicated the essence of their business – Providing affirming occupation therapy to clients of ALL AGES.

Once we had a new logo and brand color palette, the next phase was to take that inspiration and use it for a new website and other related assets.

Challenges

  • Brand Recognition: We needed to ensure the new logo presented a simple yet memorable graphical representation of their new venture.
  • Communicating Core Values: The new logo had to encapsulate Across All Ages’ mission of providing affirming occupation therapy to clients young, old, and all in between.
  • Uniqueness and Memorability: They needed a distinctive logo to help the brand stand out among competitors and ensure it is easily recognizable. Unique shapes, colors, or fonts can make logos memorable.

The Design Process

We began by conducting an in-depth discovery session with the team at Across All Ages to understand their vision, brand story, target audience, and competitive landscape. The most important influences they wanted to see were simplicity, subtle colors like teal and muted blues, and possibly something centered around the number ‘3’, to represent the theme we kept coming back to of supporting clients young, old, and all in between.

Concept Development

Based on the insights gathered, we explored several logo concepts, focusing on three key themes:

  • Simplicity: The logo had to be clean and modern, avoiding overly complex visuals.
  • Timelessness: We wanted to design something that would stand the test of time and remain relevant as the brand evolved.
  • Distinctiveness: We aimed to create a logo that would differentiate Across All Ages from competitors while staying true to their identity.

The initial concepts included:

Option 1: 3 mountain peaks with soft blue font and a more flowy, serif font.

Option 2: Muted beige and black sans serif fonts with a more modern, sharp representation of the 3 ages of clients they support.

Option 3: We went even simpler with a single font and a single color. Again with a focus on the tri-peak design element.

Feedback & Iterations

After presenting the concepts to Across All Ages, we gathered feedback on what resonated with them. They were particularly drawn to mountain features, especially the symbolic nature of the 3 peaks and its tie-in to the various stages of life. They also preferred teal as the central color of their new brand. Lastly, due to the nature of their work and their clientele, they wanted to go with a sans-serif font that would be easier on the eyes. Based on their input, we refined the design, tweaking it to include a simple, 3 peak mountainscape in teal, and the business name in a clean Montserrat Classic font, to create a final version that met their expectations with overwhelming enthusiasm.

The Final Design

The final logo design effectively balanced Across All Ages’s need for a modern, professional identity with a nod to their established reputation in the market. The result is a versatile logo that works seamlessly across various platforms, from digital to print.

Results

Since launching the new logo, Across All Ages has been thrilled that it provides a consistent visual identity that aligns with the company’s broader branding efforts that we also assisted with, including their new website redesign, business cards, and social media. Here is an example of how we took the elements of the logo and incorporated them into other designs:

Client Testimonial

“Mike and Cathy have been instrumental in launching my business.  They considered things that I had not even thought about and had me up and running quickly.  I was especially grateful for the sounding board for ideas of how to navigate processes both for the website and for accounting.  As a therapist, there were many business components I just didn’t know and they helped me get my business off the ground.”
– Joann Fleckenstein, CEO, Across All Ages Therapy

Conclusion

The collaboration with Across All Ages Therapy showcases how thoughtful, strategic logo design can elevate a brand and help it connect with its audience meaningfully. By aligning the design with the brand’s core values and future goals, we delivered a logo that reflects their identity while setting the stage for future growth.
